Philippians 4:6-7 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understnad. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Newspaper headlines declare "doom and gloom" in the economy. Many have fear of losing jobs, retirement funds, homes, and health care. With Christmas approaching, many stress over not having the money to provide gifts under the tree. Worry does not change anything. Worry cannot change the outcome. Worry erodes health and steals joy.
Despite all the signs of recession and depression, this Advent season I'm not stressing over the commercial aspects of Christmas. Instead I'm focusing on the blessings God has provided--a wonderful husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. These gifts are priceless and cannot be replaced with material things.
