I often wonder what it would have been like to be one of the shepherds in the field when an angel appeared to announce the Savior had been born. They traveled to Bethlehem and found the baby just as the angel had told them. What joy they must have felt to look upon the Messiah. They spread the word to all they met about what they had seen and heard. As Christmas nears, I feel the anticipation and excitement they must have felt.
It is easy to get caught up in the commercial aspects of Christmas, and it's important to remember the true meaning of our celebration.
